WEN Pomegranate Cleansing Condtioner

I've always seen the advertisements for this on the television but never knew anyone that actually tried it. I've always wanted to try this out but was not sure of how my hair would react to it, seemed pricey, and could only order it online. Luckily for me, I snagged a sample of this from a giveaway WEN promoted a month or so ago on Facebook.
It came in a 2 oz packet with a postcard showing instructions. The sample did not seem like a lot because I have long, thick, chemically processed hair. So, I followed the instructions  and noticed a few things about it. First, I noticed it had a strong smell to it that will kind of burn your eyes a little. Second, it had a cooling /tingly sensation on the scalp as you wash your hair. The Rosemary in it could be the reason behind this. And lastly, it did not do much for me as a detangler. I washed my hair with regular ole shampoo then used WEN as the conditioner. I found myself having the hardest time trying to detangle my hair after washing it. My advice to anyone that is considering using this product is to use a conditioning shampoo that detangles then proceed with the WEN.

I like to use Creme of Nature conditioning shampoo as a detangler regularly. Next time I will use CON first, then use WEN. Also, I hear many people speak about not getting a good lather. I didn't at first either. The trick to get around this is to slowly add water as you massage the product in your hair, Until you get a good lather. I have long, thick hair and a splash of water certainly was not going to cut it, :-P After battling with all of the tangles, I applied  a little of the leftover WEN to my hair as a leave in conditioner. When everything was complete, my hair was shiny, not heavy, and full of body. I didn't even need to use Argan Oil. The last time my hair looked like that was when I used Motions Moisture Plus and the leave in conditioner, which is the cheaper option obviously, lol

My overall experience with WEN exceeded my expectations. I like it but would wait until it is on sale to buy since it is so pricey. Based on my experience with this, I would give this a 10 for product performance. I give this a 8, though it is good, just too pricey for me.

Tastykake® Kandy Bar Kakes

**I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster. **

These are my little bundles of joy. When I opened my VoxBox from Influenster, I was a little skeptical at first because I have never heard of TastyKakes until I received this sample in the mail and found them on Facebook. These light and fluffy cakes are about $4.49 per box and they come in Peanut butter, Peppermint, and S’mores. I received the Peanut Butter and must say they are heavenly. It reminded me of a Ding Dong but with a Peanut Butter Flavor. You can buy these at Wal-Mart and other major retail stores. These little goodies are a treat to eat for the kids and will definitely fix that sweet tooth  ;-D On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give this a 10.

Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+

Hey everybody! As you can see, this is another goody I received in my VoxBox from Influenster.

I thought the container it came in was really cute. After I opened it, it had a certain smell to it that is hard to explain. It did not stink but you probably wouldn’t want your hair to smell like it without applying some good smelling hairspray afterwards. It’s a light purple paste that seems very thick just from looking at the container. I dabbed my finger in it to check and it reminds me of molding clay with a rubbery texture, if any of you have ever taken a pottery/ceramics class. I rubbed a small amount on the back of my hand and was shocked that it’s not heavy. It is marketed as “a paste with an innovative rubber consistency that separates and defines, while leaving a subtle matte finish.”  Now for the life of me, I did not have a clue about how I could use it because I have long hair. I think I remember someone posting that you could use it to hold curls. I could not see that being possible. When I see the OSIS Rough Rubber, it is usually advertised by someone with short hair for a distressed look.

So, I thought it was a lost cause until I tried it as a styling/holding gel. It worked for me this way and noticed it did not leave any residue behind. I just applied to my hair, wrapped it up before bed, and was good to go for the next day. I would recommend this for someone with short hair for a distressed look, if that’s your style. As for myself, I like the way it gets rid of my flyaways and as a styling gel. What are thoughts on this? Have any of you had different experiences?

Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure

I see many of these in the stores. I’ve tried just about all of them with the same problem, not wide enough. When I received these in my VoxBox from Influenster, my initial thought was, “Here we go again” When I opened these, I knew right off that something was not going to fit. I did however, like the design of these. They were glossy, so no top coat needed.

I managed to get most of these to fit. The only ones that did not fit were the thumbs, as you can see in the photo (right). I had to paint the thumbs with a goldish polish to match. Once applied, I noticed some of the corners did not attach well to my nails. This may be due to the fact that some were a little too small for my nails and tried to make them fit anyway. They are kind of flimsy, so don’t do anything too heavy duty. On Day 2, I went on with my day with household chores, washing dishes, and bathing. At the end of the day, they seemed like they were still holding up. Then on Day 3, they were beginning to loosen up and lose the design pattern from peeling. One nail even popped off that same day. On day 4, more started to loosen up to the point of just pulling them all off. They did not last long for me. Then again, it is advertised to last up to a week.  I would recommend these for a quick night out look, for the kids, or teens. I would consider buying these for just that, a night out. I really do hope they make these for people with wide nails like myself. Overall, I’d consider buying these and would recommend as well.Have you tried these?

Secret Outlast Clear Gel

I like Secret. Some of my favorites include Pretty N' Peach, Baby Powder/Powder Fresh, and Glacier Mist. Some of you may not remember Glacier Mist like I do because it is discontinued. Secret, if you are reading this, PLEASE bring back Glacier Mist.

Now, I have always seen the Completely Clean scent on the shelves and never thought twice about trying this. Why you ask? I stick with what I know. I am sure many of you will agree with me on this when I say not all deodorant scents agree our body chemistry. Sure it can smell good when you are at the store pulling that cap off and peeling back that film to get a whiff of that sweet smelling goodness. As soon as you get it home, put it on, move around a little bit, something changes. That pretty little scent doesn’t smell the same anymore does it? With that said, I was not about to pay for something that may not work for me. Luckily, I received this in my VoxBox from Influenster to try and will admit that it is not that bad after all. It smells very fresh. I applied this in the morning and noticed while it did very little for wetness protection; the scent did last all day with no white marks. So, I would recommend this to anyone that wants to get away from the Powder scents and move towards the fresh smelling scents. I like it and will consider buying this, in addition to my other favorites. At around $4.59, I would say it is a decent price. On a scale of 1 to 10, I will give this an 8. What are your experiences with this?
